soccer field - Cambodia

This is one of the largest rural schools we’ve ever helped. They have a head count of 1,409 students. To accommodate so many children, they have both morning and afternoon schools.

Before our project, they used an open field with no boundaries to play soccer and had no dedicated volleyball court. To encourage the students to have more active time during and after school, the principal requested a soccer field and volleyball court.

With the help of the school, we leveled the ground as best as possible, cleaned it up and squared it off to add formal boundary markers. The markers are then used to draw lines with powered chalk. We then hired some local folks to custom make some formal goals and volleyball posts. The results are in the pictures and in short… everyone loved the project (parents, teachers, students, community, etc).

The total project cost was $1,110 and took about 9 days to complete.
